Experience
Children are effervescent and their joy and curiosity of learning is why I love teaching elementary! I teach grades TK-1st in a Special Day Class setting which has enabled me to truly understand differentiated instruction and work to meet where your child is at. I have also taught Resource in which I implemented push-in and pull-out instruction where, depending on the students’ varied needs, I offered academic and social support. I also have experience in creating and overseeing Individualized Education Programs. I know and understand how specialized your child’s education truly is and will work to ensure that their goals will be met. My favorite part about teaching is building a trusting rapport with my students. They’re all radiant and I love helping them uncover their unique gifts. At the heart of my teaching style is compassion. Because of this, I have witnessed close knit and supportive classroom communities within my students. Working to build student self-confidence is my goal. My work experience includes working with adults with all abilities, mild to severe, to integrate and involve them in their own community. I have training in Applied Behavior Analysis in which I administered in-home therapy with my clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder. I implemented behavior interventions and worked directly with parents to ensure positive and collaborative relationships to better serve their child. I have also volunteered abroad to teach English in Italy to high school students and in Thailand working with elementary students.
